Landlords and Property Managers throughout North America coast-to-coast in both English and French.

How do I become a member?
You must signup to become a
member.
You must fax or email documents
confirming your identity and ownership of your rental property before your
account can be activated.
After verification
we will contact you by email. We will
send you your
Membership Agreement
which you must sign.
Your account
will be activated within 1 business day after all documents have been received.
If your application is submitted after office hours, we will contact you the
next business day.

need from me?
Landlords must provide:

Proof of your Rental Property.

Proof of your current address

Property Managers must provide:
1.Business license OR GST registration
2.Proof of your current address

Equifax Credit Bureau also requires all Landlords and Property Managers to
complete a on-site inspection. The inspection will be conducted by a certified
agent who will check your home or business office to see if it meets security
measures sufficient to protect personal information.

How does the onsite inspection
work?
Once requested, the agent will contact
you in 2-3 business days to
schedule an appointment.
You must keep all personal
information under controlled access.
Your files and your office space
where you store information must be lockable, separate from and not utilized as "living
quarters" You must also show that you have adopted proper
measures of disposing files when no
longer needed and you must password protect your computer or
any other equipment used to receive the credit information.

Can I get my own credit report?
If you would like to order your own credit report please visit Equifax Canada
and fill in their application.

Will I need my tenants permission?
By law you must have your tenants permission to run a credit check. You must
fax or email written authorization to us. Most rental applications have a consent clause. If needed you can obtain a
rental application or consent form from the Members Area.
§ 619. Obtaining information under false pretences [15 U.S.C. § 1681q]
Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act there are severe penalties where a consumers
credit information has been obtained under false pretences. Any person who
knowingly and willfully obtains information from a reporting agency under false
pretences shall be fined or imprisoned for not more than two years, or both.
